Taproot Farm is AMAZING! We've subscribed to their CSA for many years now and it just gets better and better. The vegetables are beautiful, varied, clean, and thoughtfully chosen. Delivery is reliable and our pickup spot is only about a mile from where we live. And customer service is outstanding.

I have been a member of the Taproot CSA for two years. Before that, I would always try to track them down at Farmers' Markets in the Philadelphia area. Namely, Old City on Wednesdays and Chestnut Hill on Saturdays. Their produce speaks for itself, always at peak freshness, keeping well when stored properly, and positively delicious. They have introduced me to varieties of broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, radishes and beautiful tomatoes that I never knew existed. As an added bonus, the farmer's weekly newsletter includes recipes, cooking and storage tips for the veggies that are in season that week. June and July are always highlights, as Taproot harvests their organic strawberries and blueberries.

My family has been part of Taproots CSA for many years now (I’ve lost count but more than 5) and absolutely love the quality and care they put into growing food and caring for their land. We’ve left their veggies and eggs in the fridge for weeks (unintentionally) and they’ve still been fresh, crisp and delicious. Japanese sweet potatoes, watermelon, berries and eggs are top favs but it’s all amazing.

Love taproot! I have been getting a taproot csa for years, their vegetables are incredibly delicious and fresh and I love being challenged to cook with new things I might not normally buy at the store. You can taste the difference, they are significantly better than veggies from the grocery store.

The CSA at Taproot is well-run, and I love getting their fresh produce every week. The quality of the produce is superb, and it's nice to have the option to add fruit, eggs, cheese, coffee etc to our veggie share. They send me an email every week with what to expect in the share, how to cook/store each item, and some recipes. I feel like the variety is really good too - with other CSAs, I feel like you may get 5 weeks straight of squash, but with Taproot I never felt bored with the weekly shares. Being able to manage my account online and put a vacation hold on my share if I'm out of town is also a nice option.

I love my CSA with Taproot. Everything is just picked and perfect, the add ons are great. I get different mushrooms every week that aren't available in the grocery store. Ola answers any questions I have quickly and satisfactorily in addition to her informative weekly emails. Also, the recipes are a nice bonus. I don't know how they do it with all of the additional locations they service since I became a member, but they do it very well. I 100% recommend Taproot CSA for anyone who wants fresh, organic, healthy food. Thanks Ola!

I subscribed to my first CSA with Taproot this year and have been very happy with it. They have different size shares so you can get what fits your household. The convenience, quality and variety is superb and has really improved the meals I eat. I used to shop at farmers markets but using a CSA has cut down the time I spend shopping as well as narrows down my meal planning (by no longer having to start from scratch).The customer service is also wonderful as you are most likely contacting the owners directly and they answer any questions you have. I highly recommend trying a CSA if you are interested in eating local and want to cook with a variety of fresh vegetables.

This is our first year as members of the CSA, and the produce is excellent quality. I don't mind paying more than what Aldi charges, because I know where it's coming from, and it stays fresh waaaaay longer than anything I buy at the grocery store.Now, if we could only get an early pickup time in New Jersey so I don't have to drive 45 minutes each way on my day off...

Taproot is our favorite farm. We always stop at their stand first at the Ambler Farmer's Market and are bereft without their produce when the market is off-season. They have wonderful produce, with a wide variety of options, and Ola always has suggestions for new things to try.

George and Ola at Taproot are wonderful to work with and we are so impressed with their lovely emails describing life on the farm, their website, and the recipes they send out to help use lesser-known produce items. We have SO MUCH FUN anticipating and dividing the beautiful produce with our neighbors. In Year 2 we got so good at using the tips and recipes that we never wasted a thing. Long about February when we're out shoveling snow we yell across the street to our neighbors "Can't wait for our CSA!!"

A wonderfully dedicated, incredibly hard-working jubilant family, with gorgeous produce farm, greenhouses and 200 chickens happily ranging the grassland. The most succulent vegetables of many, many luscious varieties of every season, lovingly tended. I can't tell you how impressed I was by just knowing the way Mr. Brittenburg cures the squashes in a special shed every autumn before they bring them to market at the peak of deliciousness. I'm from New York City, so can only buy occasionally when I'm in the area, but if I could, I would surely subscribe to their delivery system. Keep up your ideals! Yum yum!!

What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

Community Supported Agriculture, also known as “CSA” is a way to support your local farmers by subscribing to a box of a weekly seasonal harvest.

Members of the Taproot Farm CSA receive a weekly organic seasonal harvest of produce, handpicked on our farm that week. We offer 3 share sizes to best fit the needs of different households.
